joy

joy

... joy and sorrow are inseparable. . . together they come and when one sits alone with you . . . remember that the other is asleep upon your bed.

  1. what a quote. i'm still pondering if i agree with it—but it gets you thinking none the less.

    i do love both words.

"one for sorrow, two for joy."

  2. I think it helps to remind us when we are in those moments of sorrow that joy is always around the corner. Cannot have one without the other I suppose.

I just hope that joy doesn't sleep to long when sorrow is awake.

In any case, have a joyful week ahead.

  3. Georgia - I'm not sure either, but like Leigh says - I think it's just a reminder that knowing either can be around the corner.

    DC - Thanks!

Leigh - I think if Joy gets lazy and stays in bed, we have to wake it up! :)

As many of us experienced this year, joy is only just around the corner... this sorrow is short-lived.

  11. what a great quote - really gives us something to think about. I love the photo too.
I hope JOY is your closest friend in the New Year.

I want to thank you for all the kind comments you have left on my blog - I appreciate it more than you can possibly know. I have been a bad blogger friend - I feel so bad that I have been away so long and I'm having a hard time catching up with it all. I look forward to spending 2009 with you.
