i wonder

there are some things you find along the way and you wonder what the story is all about.  i did anyway.

do you ever get to the point where you're whelmed?  not overwhelmed because, well that just sounds like you're done...but just whelmed where you're filled to the brink? this week i feel whelmed.  i've been struggling with the bureau of silly questions and the department of tedious affairs for a couple of weeks.  the classic case where you think you're being very direct with instructions and such and you still get one pedal of the bicycle going.  yeah.

bill withers is on my mind today, in particular "lovely day."  hope you have one

  2. How beautifully said Char. You may be whelmed but you have no lost your sense of whimsy and wonder and your ability to say what is on your mind. Whelmed. I like that!! There are days and sometimes there are weeks...hope you feel less "whelmed" and more in balance soon! xo

  3. Boy can I relate-today, my first day off this week and I had tons planned...and I've been here in front of the fire all day while it has snowed all day long...I just feel exhausted even though I haven't done anything...but tomorrow is a new day and I have a ton of things to do on top of the normal things..but this "free" day sure has helped...perhaps that is what you need?? Hope no matter what your day will be brighter tomorrow!

  6. I know that bureau of tedious affairs only too well. *sigh* The real trouble is it saps the life out of everything even after you walk away.
I guess the trick is to remember the wonder and let it carry us through.

  7. Yeah! and its kinda nice to be whelmed...it keeps us wondering and guessing and thinking. Good for the brain! I'm whelmed by reading blogs....just to see what everyone is thinking!

    Love!

  8. Whelmed has a way of sounding just right ... not overwhelmed, not underwhelmed. Just whelmed. I kind of like that meaning.

  14. I feel that everyday. Stepping off a carosel and I watch the thing twirl around before my eyes.
I don't know if I should jump back on and ride it out, or sit awhile on the sidelines.
I think it's a mixture of both and knowing when to jump off.

  22. I know that feeling. I made a decision to take a day free from any work, just to get my head back to normal. It worked, thank goodness. I hope you have a chance to take a break and recharge.

  25. Bill Withers~~~ after my own heart!
He is the one artist who is the least known but the best known.
He is the essence of 'whelmed'

  26. Overwhelmed? Constantly and consistently! Has anyone else gotten to the point where they can't even think anymore? I think its my way "dealing" (actually its more like not dealing) with problems!

  28. lol...english is a funny language...why DON'T we use the world whelmed, if we use overwhelmed? Well, you have used it perfectly in this post. Love the way your mind thinks.
