do you walk funny?

"don't get your knickers in a knot, it never solves anything and you just walk funny."  -- kathryn carpenter

i'm not sure who kathryn is...but i like her attitude.  and that is basically my my outlook on life.  no use in getting all up in arms because most of the time, it doesn't amount to a hill of beans..of course there are exceptions to every rule - of course.

sometimes we have to flex to keep from being walked over...but, all in all - she has it straight.  on my bad days, i just close the e-mail and come back to it the next day when i won't be tempted to reply with something tart, like...oh...maybe....'stuff yourself'  *ahem*  did i say that?

yes, i did.  *sigh*  yeah...i don't really mean it.  not usually anyway.  maybe i need to go unknot my knickers.  is it time to go home yet?

now...let us go enjoy some spring time.

  5. I used to be rather bad at checking my attitude. Now I work really hard to be more laid back. I realize that some things just plain don't matter and some things do. If it really doesn't matter, then don't waste the energy being pissed. Some days are easier than others though. :)

  6. I don't really get a bad attitude but I crawl into a cocoon of self pity because I'm super sensitive. I wish I had the guts to tell people what I really think when they upset me!

  8. I am often telling my teenagers to "choose their attitude" but am often bad at taking this advice myself. It's easy to say, but to do it? Not so much!

    Love yours, too.

  10. j is in a play and the maid tells the narrator not to get his knickers in a knot. then i had to explain what knickers are. maybe we should all wear them just to make us laugh.

  14. Ah, springtime..! I love your expression: "it doesn't amount to a hill of beans." :)

It's true what Carpenter said, but it's also true that it's easier said than done. Don't be too hard on yourself. I hope tomorrow (today?) is better.

  15. Boy, that was a hard lesson for me to learn, but learn it I did...it was a necessity when you have adult children.

  19. I tend to "get my knickers in a knot" more than is necessary. Just my nature. That's why I spend so much time in the garden. I tend to forget all about the knickers!

  21. Another quote along those lines that I love is:

"put on your big girl panties and deal with it."

You know where I heard this from? My 10 year old neighbor! She's got a good Mom!
