i would love to have exciting news of my weekend...but here is the very sad truth. i spent most of it sleeping on the sofa with two handsome boys and one beautiful girl. too bad they were of the fur children variety or my weekend might have been a bit more... say... stimulating? hmmmm
i babysat for three adorable dogs - a jack russell (jake), a corgi (lil' man), and an 8-month-old german shepherd (hera). all were adorable and sweet.
most of the weekend was spent catching up with sleep as i've been in some intense mouth pain over the two weeks - due to the root canal and another issue that has popped up due to my (previously unnoticed) clenching of my jaw while i sleep. it seems it's been causing headaches and intense pressure on my back molars that have developed into pain! anyway - it seems to be better now and we are looking at what has to be done to correct that. ugh. have i mentioned i have an intense fear of the dentist? i do - it stems from childhood and a very bad dentist that didn't use numbing swabs...(think steve martin in 'little shop of horrors)
i have some catching up to do...
*****************************************************************************
today on my ipod - mrs. potters lullaby (the counting crows), the way you move (lucinda williams), drive (the cars), cigarettes and chocolate milk (rufus wainwright), interstate love song (stone temple pilots), three more days (ray lamontagne), bruce springsteen (brilliant disguise), ice cream (sarah mclachlan)
feel better. mouth pain, ugh.
ReplyDeletei hear you! i just got a mouthpiece (lovely) to wear at night. you may want to look into massage therapy for your jaw - neuromuscular would really help. check to see if there is a school near you as they would have a student clinic. (this was my previous life before teaching - lmt) ;) take good care!!
ReplyDeleteOoh, jaw clenching...I had to get a splint to wear at night so I don't do that. No fun at all. Glad to hear you got to catch up on some sleep though; that's always night. I hope your poor old mouth gets to feeling better soon!
ReplyDeleteOh, you poor thing. That kind of stuff cab kind of just take over your existence can't it? I hop you feel better soon.
ReplyDeletexoxo Kim
It's nice to have a "down" weekend every now and then...hope you are feeling better soon. Is it TMJ that you have? Hope not!
ReplyDeleteoh i do hope you feel better.
ReplyDeleteOooo, feel better. Hate the mouth stuff. At least you had some wonderful non-judging, just cuddlin' company.
ReplyDeleteomg! so sorry you have been so uncomfortable...feel better soon...and hopefully you will, sounds like they figured out the problem, now just fix it!!

Sleep sounds so good right now, I can't tell you! Hoping you feel better rested and that your mouth is feeling better too--ouch, that hurts when your mouth is in pain!

I share your fear of the dentist. In my very early 20's, after I moved out of my parent's home, I went to a dentist who scared the hell out of me. And then I went to see Marathon Man. Big mistake. Fast forward years until I finally found a dentist who, along with his staff, are gentle and good. And now it doesn't bother me anymore.
ReplyDeleteBut I hear you on the pain. So sorry you're going through this.
Well, I think it sounds like a delightful weekend. Just my kind of company!
ReplyDeleteBrenda
Sorry about your pain though!

oh sweetie....tell your dentist, even if you feel better, that you want to have a mouth guard made for when you're sleeping....it honestly can make the world of difference.
ReplyDeletei wear one nightly.....and oh, it's so sexy. not
but my health and well being is more important !!!
Thanks for visiting today, Char - and good luck with those mouth issues. I must admit to loving my bite guard, once I got used to it. No more tooth ache!:) Your furry friends sound comforting - enjoy the cuddles!
ReplyDeleteThat actually sounds like a nice weekend to me...except for the tooth/mouth pain that is. I have had my share of tooth problems and can sympathise with you...Feel better dear Char!
ReplyDeleteOh, I'm sorry you've had so much mouth pain lately. I have problems with clenching my teeth as well. I guess that is how us mild manner people pulling off being kind to those around us during the day....we grind them to kingdom come and back at night!
ReplyDeletethere are worse things than spending quality time with furry friends!
ReplyDeletehope you mouth is feeling better. i am no fan of dentistry, or of the horrifying bill that comes along with the physical pain.
and i am guessing you have seen the movie marathon man. shudder. that movie did wonders for fears of the dentist.
oh you and i are going to get along just fine... i sleep with a mouth guard now, after learning i needed one, the hard way. argh!
ReplyDeletethose naps sound lovely.
xo
ouch you poor girl, sorry to hear about the mouth issues, but the sleeping now that sounds great.
ReplyDeleteoh char, I am so sorry about your dental stuff...that is no fun and i understand how hard that must have been for you...what a nice way to spend the weekend..the dogs loved the down time with "auntie char" I am sure....hope you have turned the corner on this issue my friend~~
ReplyDeleteSending well wishes your way - love spending time with furry ones, too.
ReplyDeleteThis is a beautiful shot of cosmos...mine burned out around...June. Need more even watering I suppose than I gave them, but I LOVE this pink!
I just love your honesty and humor. Your blog makes me endlessly happy.
ReplyDeleteoh my gosh, i know the feeling... I'm scared to death of the dentist and I'm forced to find my way there... same problem horrible pain on my black molars... it's really terrifying. I'm scared to death of what they may have to do. :(
ReplyDeletesigh... glad you were able to rest up.... xxo, kim

omigosh, char -- i know what you're saying! i used to hate the dentist till i finally found one that i trust. now i'm still nervous when i go, but not totally freaked out. :) i hope everything works out for you. glad to hear that you are feeling better! :)
ReplyDeletelovely little cosmos!
I had a mouth full of fillings when I was little, too, and now the fillings are old and are gradually being replaced. My dentist now uses a laser rather than a drill, which is painless so no novacaine is necessary. Gotta love technology. Hope all goes well with your dental treatment!
ReplyDeleteOwie, poor girl! I know your pain, dear. I'm a jaw clencher myself and sometimes wake up with excruciating headaches. Those root canals can be brutal, too. Hope you're feeling better very soon. ((hugs))
ReplyDeletewow - i want joanne's dentist! :)
ReplyDeletejaw clencher here, too. :P
ReplyDeleteI saw a cranial-facial specialist to help me. a mouth piece was prescribed and it works well. :)
hugs for your pain.
