imagination

i admit it...i would rather snack instead of sitting for the biggest most decadent meal.  give me small plates and i'm in heaven.

tonight i was alone in the house. a bit of brie, a baguette, a pear, and some yummy raspberry walnut topping and i was in heaven.  maybe if i squinted just a bit i could imagine a lovely little bistro someplace historic, mysterious away from the daily grind.

today i would wear big glasses and a fedora as i nibble on my feast.  watching the world go by at my table tucked away in the corner.  or perhaps i could feed my lov-ah slivers of pear whist he was working on some corporate merger on his laptop ....or while he closed his laptop to focus solely on me.

oh the imagination that i have as i sit and nibble...watching the golden light fade to pink and lavender.

  2. I find that when I'm home alone I'm much happier with the eclectic snacking. It's one of the things I look forward to when my lov-ah is away and I don't have to cook the heavy meals that he's so partial to.

  4. Funny you would say this, because we just sort of figured out that we don't need to fix a meal with an entree every single night. We can make snacks, which we did last night, sort of. It was great! I mean they were healthy ones, like yours, that sounds so yum. Nice image too, of watching the world go by, from behind a veil.

  6. yeah....i'd go for the part where he's focused just on you and the pears and the brie become a thing of the past as you walk hand in hand to the perfectly built bonfire next to the old quilt you laid out on the beach right before he got home from work.....

    i'm a dreamer too.....

  8. I'm a snacker too, big time. A big meal doesn't really thrill me, especially dinner. Unless it's a really good dinner like baked haddock or turkey with all the good stuff!

I love the song Romeo and Juliet by Dire Straits. It reminds me of a past relationship so many years ago.

  14. love this!

i saunter off into fantasy camp QUITE often!

i have a friend that only serves appetizers at thanksgiving. little bits of little delicious things are just fabulous, and sometimes more fun and satisfying than a traditional meal!

  15. I love your words! I am envisioning you doing just that. I too like small meals. I'm just too lazy for big ones. I want to get it out of the way so I can continue whatever I was in the midst of when hunger struck.
