books (18/30)

today's gratitude - there are many worlds in books - many places to visit and tarry a while...many things to learn...many things to relate to as we go through our lives.  i'm forever grateful to parents that encouraged me to read, to teachers that give me the ability to take these journeys and to authors that carry me along as i travel down their roads.

i'm grateful for libraries that have continued to give the gift of reading to all that take that opportunity.  some of my fondest memories of childhood were spent at the local library as i explored the world of nancy drew, the hardy boys and was inspired by biographies of great leaders.

today on my i-pod - the glee albums on repeat.

  3. Books are probably my favorite thing. That's the one thing I'd find it hard to live without.
A new book is all I need to be content.

  7. I wish I were a better reader. My father read all the time, while my mom doesn't. I must have her don't-read gene. I have good intentions, though, so I shall keep trying! Thanks for the inspiration. :o)

  9. The library and the librarian in the town I grew up in remain two of my favorite memories...now my eldest is a librarian and Mr O is the president of our local library...you can say I still love libraries!

...even with all those libraries I still love to buy books...even when I know I should go to the library first:)

  13. I used to borrow Nancy Drew books from the girl around the corner, and I also used to visit the mobile library that came to our little town -- both fond memories. Yes, I love our library now, and all the libraries in all the towns I've ever lived in... :)

What a beautiful image here today, Char!
