okay...i admit it

not that i would plan to get married again at this age..but if i did.  i want to be a character in the great gatsby and i would totally wear this dress by anthropologie's new line, bhldn.  i think the girl in me squealed at the entire catelog.  but that dress...

he would wear a white suite, just like robert redford's jay.  and we would be married on the sands of ... somewhere.  the gulf beaches are too bright, too new.  i picture instead brunswick, georgia or beaufort, south carolina.  ladies could wear cocktail dresses and men crisp suits.  the fare would be light and the cocktails cold and abundant.

i wonder if i could just get this and marry myself.  ha!  anthropolgie...  you and your dreamy marketing campaigns.  *shakes fist*

ps - i want my "cake" to be a lucious tower of cream puffs and perhaps tiny cream brulees as another dessert. not that i've thought about that or...anything....really

  2. Oh, heck - I'd want to get married again just to wear that dress...

maybe we should just each buy one, and wear it whenever the heck we please? Although for $2600, we'd better wear it every day...

    positively dreamy.

  4. You could just throw a really killer party and do all those same things...and not have to get married. :) I think about doing stuff like that, since my wedding is over.

  7. Oh, that dress is scrumptious.
As for marrying yourself, I remember a news story some years ago about a women who did just that. She decided she liked her own company and was happy, so she sent invitations and held a little ceremony and party. :D

  9. For a girl who doesn't 'do fluff' you're sounding pretty fluffy today. Love anthro's pr department, their shoots make the line look soooo yummy.

  11. Ooooh ... that one really is gorgeous! Nice pick. I love the whole line, but it's a wee bit pricey for me and perhaps a bit more "statement" than I'm looking for right now.

  15. WOWZER!!!! I love it and I love that you'd go for something other than a traditional white gown. I wonder these days about peeps on their second or third wedding going for the full on white gown??? When I was a child it was a total no no for divorcees to wear white, or even have a big do.
I digress... I need to hook you up, I have the perfect bachelor..hhhmmmmmm. **taps fingers thoughtfully on chin**

  17. Oh, man. Where were they back when I was getting married in the dark ages?! I ended up with a lovely dress, but it was hell finding it among the cream puffs and cupcake dresses.

This dress is perfect. I'd definitely marry myself just to get to wear it!

  19. Can you even stand that line? After perusing the site, I realized I would have to have a week long party ... so I could wear at least a couple of the dresses. The one you picked, naturally--and I was quite smitten with the butterfly dress as well. Sigh.

  20. i am loving that idea amy - there are quite a few dresss that i love. i like the long one with a bow (if i was a first time bridge) and several of the other short ones. plus some the cocktail dresses were really yummy

  24. Let me try that again....

Totally scrumptious dress! I would for sure get married again to wear that, but they probably don't make it my size. A girl can always dream, can't she?
