Definately a master...I almost did a paper on him last spring for an art history class. Always love his use of light and tonal values.
I was sad when I saw this.
Can you believe it? This one seems to make me sad as well...
I love this painting, it immediatley struck a cord with me the moment I saw it at Moma, so I had to buy the print. In the blurb it said he was painted it about his mother (who was in a wheelchair) and was trying to portray her determination.
I feel so sad. I loved the Helga series.
I was so surprised and saddened when I heard about that. I always loved this painting.
agreed... I blogged about him as well.
i feel as if each comment was between us as we sat and sipped something warm....i love to hear what you're thinking.
