the passing of a master

I loved his paintings. They conveyed a sense of isolation to me but still had a warmth. This one to me is iconic.

  1. Definately a master...I almost did a paper on him last spring for an art history class. Always love his use of light and tonal values.

  3. I love this painting, it immediatley struck a cord with me the moment I saw it at Moma, so I had to buy the print. In the blurb it said he was painted it about his mother (who was in a wheelchair) and was trying to portray her determination.
