well....hell

i need to go to my happy place ... really, i do - all by myself and perhaps stand on a big ol' dune and scream at the top of my lungs.  i couldn't go to the beach with beth's generous offer due to the doings last week...and just when i think things are settling back down - someone stole my tablet (you know the kind of laptops you can write on?) from my desk sometime between 5:15 last night and 8:15 this morning.

ugh - now comes that weird, slightly guilty feeling about why would they take something so random when i'm sure to notice it is missing from my desk? and there is a second one on the other side of my desk?  yes, i'm the person that needs two laptops (work issues - one does e-mail, the other travels and synchs up my iphone)

but...it's friday and that makes for a good day - i hope.  and the weekend is supposed to be beautiful.  so...hopefully something beautiful will happen too.  *fingers crossed*

today on my ipod - fall down (toad the wet sprocket), heart of gold (neil young), mercedes benz (janis joplin), nobody knows (tony rich), at the chime of a city clock (nick drake), baby did a bad bad thing (chris isaak cover), you get what you give (the new radicals), ice cream (sarah mclachlan), 100 years (five for fighting)

    love the iPod lineup. diggin' the nick drake stuff as well. indeed, may something beautiful come your way today, Char! sending good vibes your way. (just lost a $50 bill visiting my sister-in-law in the hospital, and i have NO idea where it could have gone ... so, i only hope whoever found it needs it more. when we lose something, or have it stolen, i believe we'll receive it back bigger, better, with more meaning. i wish that for you, girl.)

    fortunately, the laptop is password protected so, unless they break that. then i have to work about my itunes.

    First of all, I want a cd mixed by you - you and I like exactly the same music. Toad the Wet Sprocket!!! I lived on them a few years back!

    Second, I am SO sorry about the theft. THat is so difficult to deal with, even if you do have another. It is a violation and a loss of so many wonderful and important parts of your life.

    And finally, thanks for the suggestion. I've been to Magpie's Fancy and plan on going back to read her writing prompts in more detail. I do appreciate it.

    so sorry about the theft. I know that's hard. someone here at work came home to an open door and all of his cameras, hard drives, and computers gone. He's a professional photographer. how heart breaking.

    One of the sons of two of my best friends stole my wedding ring and anniversary band right out of my kitchen 12 years ago...Both Mom's blamed the other's kid. Never got them back and it still stings a bit...even after the divorce lol

    So much is being stolen these days for quick pawning for cash for drugs, esp in my town...if you have a way to ID it I would check all local pawn shops over the weekend. Many friends here have retrieved items that way but you do have to file a police report...

    Anyhoot, again sorry...hope something good happens for you this weekend to help keep the balance. : D
