wondering

everyday i talk on the phone, sometimes for hours at at time.  i worry because lately i've been at a loss for words here on the blog.  it feels that i just talk so much that all of the words are squeezed out of me, wrung dry and my fingers are parched for want of a rain shower.

we waited and begged for spring and it seems that summer is almost here already.  weird how that happens - or least it seems to happen here in the south.  we have that small window of springlike warmth and then boom, in comes the heat.  today is the heat....and while i'm wondering.

have you ever avoided reading a book because the reviews are so good that you're scared the book can never live up to the hype?  i find myself doing that with 'the help'.  i tiptoe around it quietly - looking at the yellow bookcover and caress it time to time, thinking about cracking the pages.  then i put it down again.  it sits on my nightstand in quiet reproach.

today on my ipod:  somebody else (jeff bridges), wicked game (chris isaak), you found me (the fray), rolling in the deep (adele), drift away (dobie gray), long long time (linda ronstadt), this guy's in love with you (herb alpert), shameless (garth brooks), right in time (lucinda williams)

  1. *teehee*...So far i haven't run into the problem about talking! Maybe one day! ^_^ But I have read this book, "The Help". Don't be scared!! It's fabulous...really! And I know I'm taking a chance by saying that, because, really, every book is all about the person reading it. Not the person writing it! But I feel pretty secure about saying this one was GOOOOOOD!! In fact I did a blog post with one of my favorite exerpts from the book. Check it out and let me know what you think! :-]

  2. I do that with movies and books. It makes me want to never read reviews and just read/watch what I want based on the summary rather than reviews.

  3. I have a habit of ignoring hype. I don't know if it's just my rebellious nature or not. I've been known to read something long after the hype has worn off and faded, in this way I can make up my own mind. Of course it doesn't hurt to place it on a list so you don't forget at one time you wanted to read the book.

For me the reading is much more enjoyable when I read to my own drumbeat. (Hugs)Indigo

  4. This is one time when I have to say that I can't relate to how you are feeling...I have never been good at finding words on my blog and since I quit work I am not talking enough during the day. On top of that it is still pretty chilly here!

I think you do just fine here:) And this is one of my favorite photos!

  5. Hi Char- I have felt the same way that spring has gotten smushed between the cold of winter and heat of summer. The buds are coming out all at the same time - spring flower and summer foliage. We're confused! (Thanks for not giving up on me and stopping by the other day. VERY appreciated.)
