dahlias, zinnias and feeling better

i think my body said....no more, thank you so very much.  after two weekends of being on the go, sitting next to a fellow with a cold on the plane coming home, was the end of me.  tuesday i had the itchy, dry eyes and sore-ish throat, wednesday it was a full blown cold, complete with using a whole box of tissues in one day.  finally today, i'm seeing my way out of the woods.

to feel better, i stopped by the farmer's market for dahlias and zinnias.  they look happy by the front door.  it is very true that flowers make the world a better place.  or at least it feels that way today. hope it does to you too.  other things that make me happy are:  glee, the warm sunshine on the trees, hot showers, fluffy clouds, an ice cold dr. pepper and a weekend at home.

the meds make my head fuzzy....sorta like this dahlia.  i hope you have a wonderful weekend.

  2. You are a trooper to notice the dahlias and to blog when you have a fuzzy head. May the hot showers and cold dr. pepper help to take the stuffing out of that cold.

  11. Sometimes you just have to stop and listen to when your body tells you to slow down, rest, buy some flowers, and get well:)

You tease....I love Dr. Pepper and it's not a common thing here, sometimes we get lucky and can find a 0.5 liter bottle around here for like 4 American dollars!!! The kids and I are all HUGE fans of the Dr....*deep sigh* Enjoy one for me ok?

  17. I hope you feel better soon! The airplane is the only place where you sit so close to a total stranger but never have to speak. And you catch all their germs...

  18. Sometimes our bodies have a way of telling us when they've had enough and they force us to slow down and get some rest. I'm glad you're feeling better and able to face the world again!

  19. Oh yeah, flowers can totally make my day. When I lived in Europe, I got a fresh bouqet every week... Not sure why I'm not doing it here.
Hope you feeling better soon :)

  21. Oh, I'm glad to hear you're feeling better now. Sometimes you just need to stop and recharge the batteries, so resting and the Dr Pepper (lol) have probably helped! I totally agree about the flowers, fresh flowers are so lovely and always make me smile! :)
