i have a friend that has been my best friend since we were 13 years old. through thick and thin, even when we've been apart, i have always known that i can call on her. that's a wonderful gift.
today, i went shopping and to lunch with her and her daughter. not that i bought anything really - it was just spending time with them, looking, chatting and perusing the stores was just the perfect way to spend a saturday morning. it was carefree. even when lunch was not that great. (it will be a while before i have mexican again)
so...today i'm grateful for old friends. the perfect sparkle for a saturday.
Love this gratitude series. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteMany cheers to you,
Miche :)
Oh Thats nice Char, nothing like old friends. you said you knew her since about 13, so your what about 22. lol.
ReplyDeleteold friends are the best...they know so much and still love you for who you are....
ReplyDeleteand ewww....bad mexican food....sorry that happened
i love old friends because you don't have to explain anything about who you are, they just know. they understand you without explanation. they see the whole picture.
ReplyDeleteWhat a nice way to spend a Saturday, simply being with a dear friend. Such ease comes with old friendships.
ReplyDeleteYes! I think we could all be more grateful for the wonderful friends we have in our lives. My closest and dearest friend I have known since we were 7. Time and thousands of miles have separated us but by god, when we pick up that phone, it's as if it was just yesterday that we last spoke. So, yes. Thank goodness for old friends!
ReplyDeleteSo good to know some great old friends in life... Hope you took some Beano?! Lovely Sunday Char~
ReplyDeleteMakes me think of the song... "Make new friends but keep the old...one is silver and the other gold"...I too am grateful for golden friends:)
ReplyDeleteSounds like the perfect way to spend the weekend -- with old friends. I too have the same best friend I had as a girl and there is nothing as special or constant.

I can't help it! I have to comment again..I just read your gratitude series from day 1 up...and to think that I haven't before...when I needed something beautiful to perk me up...

Great friends that have known you through time really are the PERFECT sparkle! Love that. I'm happy that you are happy, Char. Love this gratitude series you are working on and am going to have to delve into the days I've missed. :)
ReplyDeleteChar...I absolutely love your gratitude series. Thank you so much for inspiration and joy it brings to me. You have inspired me to do my own 30 days of gratitude!! I am amazed at the things around me that fill me with such joy.
ReplyDeleteold friends really are the best thing. and the best of ones pick up right where you left off without hesitation... without even noticing that years and miles have separated them.
ReplyDeleteps: beautiful warm, gorgeous colors :)
