"don't stand so close to me" (inspired by glee)
i'm a music nut - almost any kind and you can find it anytime on my ipod. i have rap, country, country/western, reggae, jam, rock, alt-rock, alt-country, pop, folk, standards...about the only type you will not find is opera and classical. not because i wouldn't give it a try - just because those style do not lend themselves well to a randomized playlist. it's hard to go from "get back" by ludicris to "the emperor's concerto" by beethoven (isn't that right? or it mozart?) anyway. music is the thing.
music has been around for thousands of years and will probably be around long after i'm gone. i'm grateful to the talented people out there that keep my toes tapping and my head bobbing. the car next to me however, may not be as grateful.
(look at me actually posting on the correct day)
LOL...you can tell I am not from the South...didn't know there was a difference between country and country/western. And I do like country music! Anyway, I could not imagine life without music...it helps me to express my emotions. It's a shame I am totally tone deaf.
ReplyDeleteBTW...LOVE the new header! How cute is that???
Oh I love music too, really like jammin and blues, the best...Char what is that picture of. it looks very interesting, maybe it is too early in the am, but I am pulling a blank. Take care, have a great day.
ReplyDeletelove the new banner! my ipod is the same. i am 56 and will listen to anything. i love all kinds of music, in spite of the kids always making fun of me.
ReplyDeletecinner - they're pitcher plants. these grown in aquatic conditions. i liked the details and the colors on them but they were very stinky.
ReplyDeletei think that my kids will grow up remembering that i always had some sort of music going. i'm so happy that my girls want to play piano too because we can create music then. you remember cooking with your mom, i remember Ed playing the guitar and playing the same folk records over and over. i hated it then, but am so appreciative of it now.
ReplyDeletethanks for the inspiration Char!!
ReplyDeletecheck out BBB today :)
xoxo Laura
you are singing my song friend...what a vivid shot here!!
ReplyDeletethis everyday in November is a challenge...
Music is right up there at the top of my list too. Rock on, Char ...
ReplyDeleteThat's a gorgeous image.
ReplyDeleteincredible photo. and yes i appreciate music so much, maybe more so because i have no musical talent whatsoever. i like a variety of genres as well, but country not so much. ; )
ReplyDeleteLove the new header!
ReplyDeleteAnd me, I'm grateful for the amazing mix cds friends pass along...
The Christmas music also makes it a little hard to randomize but I leave it there anyway.
ReplyDeleteThe new banner is great!
It makes the world go round. Love music.
ReplyDeleteThere was a time when I loved music. These days I'm loving silence or the sound of water running. Funny how you change your ways at different times in your life. And then change back. But then, it's a woman's perogative to change her mind...
ReplyDeleteBrenda
oh how I love my music on my ipod, too ! and did I ever play it loud while having a crown prep at the dentist's office on tuesday !
ReplyDeletea new favorite...charlie mars {but dang I can't remember the name of the song and I'm too lazy to go and find it}
anyhow...me too as far as opera and classical and unlike you, I don't even want to give it a try !
and a new banner !
ReplyDeleteyou've been playing and coloring and running around the playground haven't you !!
love it char !
y'all are sweet about the banner - it need to redo it with some proper colors and something other than an iphone shot. but....it's an idea i've been playing with since i saw a former banner of beth's.
ReplyDeleteIt always makes me smile when I am behind someone in traffic who is bopping their head to the music they are listening too.
ReplyDeleteI'm just glad nobody can hear me singing in my car!
xo
Yes, music! Thank God for
ReplyDeletemusic! Without it, I think
life would be a shade less
colorful.
i also love music of all kinds...
ReplyDeletei keep trying to tell
my kids (and my husband)
that it's better to be
openminded
to any kind of music
and separate yourself by genre...
how much you are missing out on
if you do that...
my 14 year old girl is starting
to see it my way...
my 10 year old boy
has always been that way
but my husband?
might be a lost cause.
heeheeheehee...
:O)
I bet the people in the cars next to you love it. At least, I do. I can't think of many things I like more than glancing over and seeing someone in the other car just sing away and seat dancing. It's so life-affirming. So happy making. Sing on, sister, sing on.
ReplyDeleteI just got my hubby an iPod for Christmas which he gets early for a trip to China next week...they are amazing and I have a feeling my iTunes bill is gonna be enormous!
ReplyDeleteMusic has been a constant in my life and I relate certain events to certain songs. I'm always singing, even if the music isn't playing!
...In college I did a research paper on music therapy because music was such an emotional part of my life...even though I am not a musican...the only music I have a difficult time listening to is real experimental jazz...the atonal stuff...other than that anything goes!
