it's friday and i love a list

favorite travel memories
eating apples by lake chelan, snow on the evergreens creating postcard versions of christmas trees, the sun setting over the puget sound, flying over the great salt flats, multnomah falls, the scent of evergreens near mount hood, the colors of the painted desert, the serene yet inspiring lincoln memorial, golden fields of sunflowers somewhere in the middle of texas, the taste of crab cakes at baltimore harbor, the mist over lake martin early in the morning, exploring the garden district of new orleans, a sunrise on the white sands of gulf shores (destin, fort walton, pensacola or seaside), a pond full of pink lotuses and a sunrise, the soldiers guarding the tomb of the unknown soldier at arlington, driving through the french quarter with my mom, sister and a friend while singing 'i like big butts and i cannot lie', the sound of thunderstorms outside my window in destin, driving into charleston for the first time, eating sunday lunch at lady and sons with mom, sis and kathy.

    I like big butts too, and I can't deny . . .

    And I am now craving crab cakes. And helldamn, I live in maryland.

    just little old me "moved a million times" being curious :)

    people would throw bricks at me if played that game....actually, the old really cool bricks sound like fun, so maybe we should :)

  5. actually with all the moving and driving we have done....we could play a game of "what states have you pee'd in".....NOW that would be FUN !

  9. beth: LOL about the peeing. i've lived in three states: AL, GA and TX. I barely remember TX and I've lived in AL since I was six.

    most of my travels were related to an old job where I traveled a lot.

  15. This is a good one! I haven't traveled in so long...I'm ready to just jump in the car and GO!

    Have you heard Trisha Yearwood's version of "You Can Sleep While I Drive"? I love it.

  16. What a wonderful travel list...it does give me a yearning for travel myself. Mr O and I hope to someday have time to travel around with a camper...vintage hopefully...just like ourselves:)

    Love your playlist...One of my all time favorite songs is Tracey Chapman's "Fast Car"...
