i would love to have exciting news of my weekend...but here is the very sad truth.  i spent most of it sleeping on the sofa with two handsome boys and one beautiful girl.  too bad they were of the fur children variety or my weekend might have been a bit more... say... stimulating?  hmmmm
i babysat for three adorable dogs - a jack russell (jake), a corgi (lil' man), and an 8-month-old german shepherd (hera).  all were adorable and sweet.

most of the weekend was spent catching up with sleep as i've been in some intense mouth pain over the two weeks - due to the root canal and another issue that has popped up due to my (previously unnoticed) clenching of my jaw while i sleep.  it seems it's been causing headaches and intense pressure on my back molars that have developed into pain!  anyway - it seems to be better now and we are looking at what has to be done to correct that.  ugh.  have i mentioned i have an intense fear of the dentist?  i do - it stems from childhood and a very bad dentist that didn't use numbing swabs...(think steve martin in 'little shop of horrors)

i have some catching up to do...

*****************************************************************************
today on my ipod - mrs. potters lullaby (the counting crows), the way you move (lucinda williams), drive (the cars), cigarettes and chocolate milk (rufus wainwright), interstate love song (stone temple pilots), three more days (ray lamontagne), bruce springsteen (brilliant disguise), ice cream (sarah mclachlan)

  1. i hear you! i just got a mouthpiece (lovely) to wear at night. you may want to look into massage therapy for your jaw - neuromuscular would really help. check to see if there is a school near you as they would have a student clinic. (this was my previous life before teaching - lmt) ;) take good care!!

  2. Ooh, jaw clenching...I had to get a splint to wear at night so I don't do that. No fun at all. Glad to hear you got to catch up on some sleep though; that's always night. I hope your poor old mouth gets to feeling better soon!

  8. I share your fear of the dentist. In my very early 20's, after I moved out of my parent's home, I went to a dentist who scared the hell out of me. And then I went to see Marathon Man. Big mistake. Fast forward years until I finally found a dentist who, along with his staff, are gentle and good. And now it doesn't bother me anymore.
But I hear you on the pain. So sorry you're going through this.

  10. oh sweetie....tell your dentist, even if you feel better, that you want to have a mouth guard made for when you're sleeping....it honestly can make the world of difference.

i wear one nightly.....and oh, it's so sexy. not

but my health and well being is more important !!!

  13. Oh, I'm sorry you've had so much mouth pain lately. I have problems with clenching my teeth as well. I guess that is how us mild manner people pulling off being kind to those around us during the day....we grind them to kingdom come and back at night!

  14. there are worse things than spending quality time with furry friends!

hope you mouth is feeling better. i am no fan of dentistry, or of the horrifying bill that comes along with the physical pain.

and i am guessing you have seen the movie marathon man. shudder. that movie did wonders for fears of the dentist.

  23. I had a mouth full of fillings when I was little, too, and now the fillings are old and are gradually being replaced. My dentist now uses a laser rather than a drill, which is painless so no novacaine is necessary. Gotta love technology. Hope all goes well with your dental treatment!

  24. Owie, poor girl! I know your pain, dear. I'm a jaw clencher myself and sometimes wake up with excruciating headaches. Those root canals can be brutal, too. Hope you're feeling better very soon. ((hugs))
