"pack" it all in...this weekend

the weekend and honestly the last ten days have been a whirl.  i've been running hither and yon so much that i haven't been able to do much in the way of commenting or visiting you...except in periodic bursts of commenting blitz.  thank you last week for the prayers - though they were not for me this time - they still blessed my heart deeply.  you are so very kind.

so...when i left you last i was about to dogsit three cuties (when i can download my iphone, you will see my sweetie "little man").  that went well despite the torrential downpour that was friday.  saturday we dashed up to birmingham to secure the perfect prom dress for my sweet model - she was just too adorable. and i had the best time just sitting and watching the girls go into a prom frenzy at jessica mcclintock.  back to the dogs on saturday evening and then dashing home sunday to prepare for the super bowl.  though i don't really watch professional football, you have to on super bowl sunday.  and of course have all the decadent food...

since the boys were coming over, i made sure to make all of their favorites:  wings, cheese dip, cheese fries (yes, we were on cheese overload), pepper jelly and cream cheese (see, told you), chips, dips, and of course root beer.  dessert was simple, chocolate chip cookies!!

the game was exciting and of course we were happy when the packers won and the cherry on top was of course glee!!

work this week become some fruition of a year of planning as contracts begin to be fulfilled...which leads to of course more intense planning and vendor oversight.  there are days i look at my composition book and wonder how all the questions will ever get answered.  but they will.  they have to - no excuses.  (no surrender)

i hope your week is going well!

  1. I think when you cheer for the Packers you are required to have no less than three menu items made predominately of cheese. Look forward to seeing the cuties!

  14. Hmmm... cheese! And it's true ... must ... watch ... the Super Bowl. This point was hit home when my grandmother called at 4:30 requesting an emergency run to Arby's. There was NO ONE out on the roads. :)

  20. That spread you made sounds sooooo delicious! I love get togethers like that even if I'm not a football fan. And I bet that Jessica McClintock frenzy was a ball--I remember getting my first Jessica dress back in high school--so much fun! Hope you are finishing out a good week Char!

  22. Wow, what a cheesy feast! You cheeseheads, you! I'm not a football fan, so I went to bed early with the DVR thoughtfully recording Glee, except it forgot to account for the late start and cut off the last 10 minutes or so. I was so bummed until I remembered I could watch it online. Thank you, Mr. Internet! You are my hero!
