it was the kind of weekend where roast in crock pots and chili dogs on a sunday night feel so right. not much was accomplished but so much really was. i tried to get out and about today to shoot downtown but the rain was not very cooperative. but i thought you may enjoy a few of these.
and one sooc - just for georgia....
Enjoy them I did. They're beautiful.
ReplyDeleteoh yes, this is a perfect sunday through photos.

Beautiful photos, love the entry door!! Roast in a crock pot sounds PERFECT for a rainy Sunday!! Hope you had a great day...have a super Monday also!!
ReplyDeleteI just love that door!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous photos.
ReplyDeletei like the second to last one.
ReplyDeleteI am loving the door Char, interesting. Take care,
ReplyDeleteThat looks like a place I'd love to visit with my camera- very different to my home town!
ReplyDeleteGreat shots. I love the old store photos. What is KRESS, by the way? It was a rainy Sunday here too. Rained ALL FRIGGIN' DAY LONG here. No roast or chili dogs for me. Why didn't I think of that? No we had leftovers and crab cakes instead. Yours sounds better though. Cheers!
ReplyDeletechili dogs and crock pot roasts...yummy! the photos are yummy too! what time is dinner...
ReplyDeleteLove that brick wall with the paint samples! The things your eye sees amazes me!
ReplyDeleteHope you're not having Rainy Days and Mondays, too.
My favorite is the sooc!
ReplyDeletei really like how you see buildings.
ReplyDeleteWe slow cooked a roast yesterday and snuggled under blankets. I wore my mukkaluks all day and hadn't felt that cozy in months. Somehow that white door to someone's home reminded me of that. And of the holidays. Especially Christmas. Perfect.
ReplyDeleteBut I love the retro feel of the 'SKRESS' building signs as well.
Interesting thing about Kress - well besides that's where my mom bought my school clothes when I was little - is that chain eventually went on to be come K-Mart. :)
ReplyDeletei love the second one and the second to last one. so atmospheric. and somehow patches of paint where someone is deciding the color just get to me...in a good way.
ReplyDeleteI am so ready to go back to Montgomery and explore...lovely images.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the feedback, I so need it, ha!
Great shots around the big M-town.
ReplyDeleteYummmm...chili dogs!
I love the old fashioned, vintage feel of these. Like you plucked them out of an old album. Very cool!
ReplyDeleteSounds like you had rain too!
ReplyDeleteGreat shots...I particularily love the wall with the squares of colour...reminds me of a Mondrian...
Have a wonderful day!
Char

ReplyDeletei love these shots! especially the door and sign shots. love them!!!
ReplyDeleteit is 400 degrees here and things are burning. what a mess. we need your rain!
relyn - that's the old train station - isn't the glass in it beautiful? I think it's original glass to when it was built.
ReplyDeleteGreat photos...they just ooze Southern life!
ReplyDeleteYes, I'm a former Georgia Peach!
Perfect beauty for a rainy day. I love them all.
ReplyDeleteThese photos are wonderful!! I love the feel of them! And the second to last one could be a piece of art!
ReplyDeleteas i scroll through these images it is the bricks that seem to pop out at me...all so artistic!
ReplyDeleteThere's always something about "downtowns" that are nostalgic and makes you ache for childhood days and ice cream cones. Lovely photos!
