and the world spins madly on
it's raining here today so i wandered to the mall - which was deserted and quiet.
no children were riding the carousel. no shoppers shopping. no cinnabons being eaten. only aimless people like me and a few working moms running errands and a couple of tourists unable to tour (missing instruments perhaps?). there was a hush - except in hot topix. of course it was loud in there as the emo salesclerks ignored me.
so i came home instead and had a sandwich and some fruit. like a child, including the cut halves - but i ate my crusts so i could whistle. 'cause i always heard if you eat your crust they help your whistle and mine's been sorta weak lately. not so much the dogs laugh and point...but, they look and me and think 'seriously?'
and it was good....really good. especially the strawberries. i saved one for you.

Pretty! I love your banner :)
ReplyDeleteCan I join you for lunch sometime? It has to be betterthan what I am going through today
ReplyDeleteYour fruity lunch looks scrumptious. Did you have some of that chicken salad you scored on the sandwich?
ReplyDeleteBTW, your nephews are dolls. Don't tell them I said that though. They might not like being compared to dollies.
Delicious.
ReplyDelete(The carousel and the sandwich).
Love the bokeh!!! OK, I am dying for a DR. Pepper now! Holy cow, I haven't had that in years!
ReplyDeletesummer lunch would not be complete without a berry or two...i am ready to tour...guitar and all...wink!
ReplyDeleteheader is really nice~
you crack me up...the whole eating of crusts and whistle thing...omg, I am so laughing right now !!
ReplyDeleteand actually that lunch looked very yummy and thanks for the strawberry...I cheated and dipped mine in chocolate, but HEY, that still counts towards my daily fruit on my food pyramid, right ?!
I need a ramblin' day such as you had today. The carousel was wonderful...and the quote is perfect. I hadn't thought about the negatives to riding:). I will agree with Beth that the strawberry needs chocolate, but I love them plain too. It's almost strawberry season here! Can't wait.
ReplyDeleteI never ate my crusts when I was growing up ... and I still don't! Whistle or not, those crusts are trimmed off before I eat the sandwich. Isn't it funny, the little characteristics that stay with us.
ReplyDeletei always liked the crusts even as a child (shoot i even liked the end piece) but it never made me whistle better. actually, i've never heard that.
ReplyDeletei love that shot of your lunch - love it.
your pictures are particularly beautiful today.
ReplyDeletei really like the sandwich with the berries. it's different then the flowers ... very nice. :-)
Smilin' here in Maryland.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the treat!
i always thought eating the crust would give you curly hair.
ReplyDeletewhat kinda line was my mom sellin' me...
Good Lord... those last two photographs? Perfection!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the strawberry. ;)
Gorgeous pix. I laughed at the description of the "emo salesclerks". I hate those stores with the booming music.
ReplyDeleteAnyhow, has a lunch every looked so lovely as yours? You could totally frame that :)
you really have a way with lighting, it's a gift.
ReplyDeletelove this post! and i adore those carousel pictures!
ReplyDeleteyour simple day sounds so nice to me. we had no rain—just lots of sun and a nice breeze. i sat on a blanket. but i like the sounds of a sandwich and some fruit. today is going to be beautiful again—but i think i will still have a sandwich and some fruit. :)
