I had three little nuggets of good things happen today. After all it is the first day of spring. Two people that I admire most paid me compliments that brought tears to my eyes. And believe me...when you're working on your third month of unemployment and looking at jobs that you never thought you would do again...those compliments make your day.
The other compliment is from Cabbage Babble who puts together several posts throughout the day, but my favorite is her lunchtime list that is a compilation of several goodies. It's like diving into a box of whitmans without the handy grid...and as Forrest says, you never know what you're gonna get. It was a chocolate covered cherry when I clicked a link and found, well, me....
Today is the first day of spring - I hope that's an omen of good luck as I went on a second interview today. There are fresh flowers on my desk, the sun is shining bright and I'm about to start a pan of lasagne for dinner tonight.
And...the world is about to be awash in the lovely purple of wisteria.
Aw, thanks, Char. You're wonderful.
ReplyDeleteI wish you luck with the job search - I know it is tough out there right now - and I count myself lucky to still have a job. My thoughts are with you.
Enjoy the beautiful Spring sun today!
Good for you finding those sweet nuggets of goodness in your day :-) I wish you well in your job search. It takes a lot to put yourself out there, put together applications, and get to those interviews. It may take time, but I have no doubt you'll persevere. Keep on keeping on!
ReplyDeleteGood luck with your Job search...you seem to be such an energetic lady who finds the best in life...awesome pictures are always full of meaning...I love visiting your Blog home everyday...even though sometimes I do not post a comment...have a wonderful Spring! It'll be a good one for sure!
ReplyDeleteIf possible, your photos are getting more and more beautiful and your recent posts have been amazing...Thanks!
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the interview!
Sending you good thoughts for the answers you want from job interviews. That photo is, again, outstanding. Why not think of a career as a professional photographer? I think you are more artistic than most I've seen!
ReplyDeleteMmm... Lasagna. I may have to change my dinner plans!
ReplyDeleteGood luck on your interviews. I'll cross my fingers for the one you want! (and that photographer idea is a good one)
your honesty is almost as refreshing as your wisteria Char...
ReplyDeleteblessings,
ELK
Glad you got some good nuggets today! The picture, gorgeous, as always and when we were at the zoo today, I noticed the wisteria is starting to bloom, LOVE it, LOVE it, LOVE it!!!!
ReplyDeleteKeep the faith Char. AT 43 after a divorce I found myself looking for work after 22 years. I had a great resume and a lifetime of varied, progressive experience. But it took5 months of daily, methodical job searching to finally land my current job (I've had for 6 yrs. I was so discouraged and out of steam. Then I decided to ACT like I knew I would get a job. I readied my clothes, took a 1-week vacation and had an offer waiting in my INBOX upon my return. The perfect job for you is out there and when you are ready - you will find one another. I just know it!!
ReplyDeleteA sunny day, fresh flowers, lasagna, and new possibility with a job interview ... these are all what matter, so true.
ReplyDeletewhat an incredible photo! and fingers crossed for ya. this could be it!
ReplyDeleteflowers always make me feel wonderful.
ReplyDelete... have a beautiful weekend.
Hi Char, finally with a puppy in the house and early morning Saturdays because of said puppy I'm able to take a peek at your blog.
ReplyDeleteFirst of all- good luck with the job interview! Haven't grasped what the interview is for, but hope it goes well.
Second, are you the photographer of all the GORGEOUS flower photos?? They are breathtaking!!! What a wonderful way to start my day!!!!
Have a super Saturday!!!
isn't Rachel the best? i remember the first time she put a link to one of my pics, too. it does make you feel pretty darn good—especially since she puts so much good stuff on that blog of hers!
ReplyDeletehappy spring!
good luck! i hope the second interview turned into a third—or better yet, the job!
Still got my fingers crossed for you, Char. Hoping, hoping for you.
ReplyDeleteI don't think I've ever seen a macro shot of wisteria before. So gorgeous! When we lived in Baton Rouge, our neighbor had a beautiful wisteria "tree" in her front yard. They sold the house a couple of years later and what do you think was the first thing the new owner did when they moved in? Cut down that gorgeous wisteria! What a moron! Paybacks are he@@ though, because he never did get rid of the roots and he always had sprouts come up all over his yard. I laughed hysterically every time I saw him out there trying to grub those things out. Served him right!
ANOTHER stunning photo! Char you must start selling your photography! ETSY employment... YOUR OWN shop!!! Your are AMAZING!!!
ReplyDeleteShould you ever decide to... and you would want to... we could do a combination GIVEAWAY like I did with Quaint Paper to LAUNCH you into Etsy... just a thought... email me privately if you wish to discuss!
I get inspiration from YOU all the time... I could live and PAINT in your blog!
BTW... I have added a little something to my post today for YOU and another fellow blogger... here it is "P.S. My sincere apologies to Char of Ramblin' ... I'm sorry the fairies turned your luggage PINK and to Paris Atelier I'm sorry the fairies stole your dress right off the runway!"
Thank you AGAIN for always widening my eyes with YOUR FAB photography!
ENJOY your weekend!
Fifi
FiFi - we will have to discuss this...and those cute fairies are always so fun. I liked the pink.
ReplyDeleteGrab those golden nuggets & good moments! Good always prevails. After my divorce, while re-entering the job force, I was unable to find anyone who would hire me except for retail jobs. I went to a temp agency where the young thing with no people or communications skills (who had a job) told me I had no current marketable skills. it ticked me off so much that I decided to start my photography business. i figured if I was going to starve, at least I'd be happy & starving!! lol!
ReplyDeleteA door will open for you, Char... & when it does, you'll look back & see the plan!!
xoxoxo
oh char, you know I spend so much of my time on flickr commenting, I sometimes miss all of the "meat" until I open up the blogs. (which I admit I'm horrible at keeping up with) Your honesty is a nugget for me today:) I'm sending lots of good vibes your way. Hang in there!
ReplyDeletei keep coming back to look at this photo. you really have outdone yourself. and i'll give some credit to the beautiful flower too, but you made it happen so that i could see it!
ReplyDeleteI read this line, And...the world is about to be awash in the lovely purple of wisteria. and I thought, "Oh. She simply must read Enchanted April. Oh, say you will.
