simplicity

Slow down and enjoy life. It's not only the scenery you miss by going too fast - you also miss the sense of where you are going and why.

there is something so sweet and simple about a baby. the way they accept the world and trust there is someone to catch them. would that i could go back to this simple trust and love. it's when we put limitations on ourselves that so many doors and windows slam shut. it's when we are judgemental that we cannot let ourselves go and be who we want to be instead of who we seem to be. or is that just me? maybe it is me. there are days i sit and watch - people seem so comfortable in their skin. mine feels tight and confining on tuesdays but perhaps by wednesday it loosens back up when i have a good talking to myself.

  3. Such a touching post...it's funny, you seem to me to be extremely confident...because of your strong eye in photography...I asumed that the maker would be as confident.
Being a Mum and let your children try new things and let them find their own route is very difficult, but is a must...if they are to find their passions.I have always fought to do what I love...and I think that's what makes me sure that I took the right journey.
    Sorry to babble...
Have a good afternoon sweet talent!
    Char.

  4. And through it all, your humor is intact. I like how you have a day for being confined, and another day to have a heart-to-heart with yourself. There's something so accepting about that, a wink of the eye, somehow.

  6. I have those days too...and right now with this heat, my skin just wants to be peeled off and thrown in the freezer for a few minutes....okay, that just sounded total hannibal/silence of the lambs like....yuck !

but seriously, I know what you mean and it's amazing how we notice things like that more clearly about ourselves when we've been with children for a few hours or days...

  9. I understand. : ) I find myself a knotty mess of judgments more and more these days, but then there are those rare, precious days when I awake with sparkle in my eye and I feel as free as the sunshine. Both states are more acutely intense than they ever were before.

To be childlike again would be a worthwhile goal for everyone, I think. Screw limitations. : )

  11. i love the image.

trust is a great thing, but i have a tough time with vulnerability. it is a hell of a struggle to have one without the other.

  12. No, it isn't just you. We all have days when we don't feel comfortable in our own skin. And days when we don't trust ourselves or our own judgment. And days when we're judgmental of others in defense of being judgmental of ourselves. And when you're married, sometimes you feel more alone with them than without them. I guess that's how I feel today. We're both feeling the doldrums!

  24. You're right, grown folks tend to put up walls and barriers while kids are untamed and uninhibited!
