i haven't feel great this week...so these are some of my comforts when i'm feeling a little puny...
- grilled cheese sandwiches - crispy, buttery and with real cheddar whenever possible.
- chicken and dumplings.
- hot tea with honey and lemon and buttered toast.
- orange sherbet and sprite floats.
- fluffy blankets, fluffy pillow and old movies
- the beatles
- fresh flowers
- my sister's potato soup
today on my i-pod (in tribute to john lennon especially, but the beatles too) - imagine, woman, yesterday, i wanna hold your hand, norwegian wood, paperback writer, here comes the sun, and i love her, nowhere man
this shot is amazing I love it!!!
ReplyDeleteCan you just imagine the music Lennon would've produced in these 30 years, given the chance? What a tragic loss.
ReplyDeleteI remember this shot Char...I am sure you posted it somewhere before? I love this. And I hope you feel better. Perhaps you need to snuggle into warm blankets and watch some good movies.
ReplyDeleteyou sort of have the recipe up there for the perfect fall, methinks.
ReplyDeleteYou know Char, I think it is one of my favorites of your too. I so hope you are feeling better soon. We all have our own comfort things when we are sick...I crave chicken noodle soup although I have heard there is nothing in the soup to cause cravings other than it works as an anti imflammatory....just heard that the other day...sorry I am probably boring you. take care, cover up and stay in bed. Hugs.
ReplyDeleteLOVE this image especially the empty flowerpot on the windowsill. Hope you are soon feeling better. I always have pastina and butter for my comfort food. :)
ReplyDeleteI'll take all the music and all of the food and crawl under the covers in my own little bed... with that beautiful picture you've taken swimming slowly 'round in my head.
ReplyDeleteAll I want is a room somewhere...far away from the cold night air...
peaceful dreams, friend
glenda
...one of my favorites too Char...one of many I should say:) Rest up this weekend and feel better soon!
ReplyDeleteOrange sherbet and sprite?? Not sure if I can get my mind around this:)...but I'm with you on everything else:)
I wanna come spend a Friday with you, because your list of comforts is almost exactly the same as mine.
ReplyDelete@Oliag: Orange sherbet and sprite is super good!! Try it. It's worth it. :)
must now try orange sherbet and sprite float....
ReplyDeleteOkay, so you've made me crave just about everything on your list, but especially grilled cheese sandwiches and orange sherbet and sprite floats.
ReplyDeleteHope the weekend brings you comfort, sweet Char. xoxo

ReplyDeletei love that photo too....
ReplyDeletei really hope you feel better and orange sherbet floats....who knew ?
ginger ale is also good with the orange sherbet...or for a twist you can try any of the citrus sherbets. YUM....i think i will do this today.
ReplyDeleteIt's a lovely shot.
ReplyDeletesherbet floats seem to be popular with the readers... I think a red patent camera bag would make you feel better, lets see what happens on the 15th!!!! fantastic picture!!!
ReplyDeleteYour photo could be a book cover for a mystery story...there is something marvelous and mysterious about it...it gives the impression there is something important just out of reach. Love it.
ReplyDeleteHope you feel better soon. Love your list of comforts.
I love your list of homey, comforting things. And I hope you feel much better soon. I think it's been a week like that all over. Mine was pretty c*&p, too. Nothing like music and comfort food and the love of family to sooth and cheer though. That, and a few days off.
