today's gratitude -
there are many worlds in books - many places to visit and tarry a while...many things to learn...many things to relate to as we go through our lives. i'm forever grateful to parents that encouraged me to read, to teachers that give me the ability to take these journeys and to authors that carry me along as i travel down their roads.
i'm grateful for libraries that have continued to give the gift of reading to all that take that opportunity. some of my fondest memories of childhood were spent at the local library as i explored the world of nancy drew, the hardy boys and was inspired by biographies of great leaders.
today on my i-pod
- the glee albums on repeat.
I agree, this is one of the greatest gifts I've been given as wellReplyDelete
I can't imagine not being able to read. Books/stories are some of my favorite things. Love, love, love.ReplyDelete
Books are probably my favorite thing. That's the one thing I'd find it hard to live without.ReplyDelete
A new book is all I need to be content.
i love books....and can't part with my favorites !ReplyDelete
Have a gleeful Friday Char! Books have been a passion since I was really little, so nice to have those wonderful memories stirred by your post!ReplyDelete

I can't imagine life without them.ReplyDelete
Enjoy your Thanksgiving cooking, Char, wishing you a wonderful holiday :)
I wish I were a better reader. My father read all the time, while my mom doesn't. I must have her don't-read gene. I have good intentions, though, so I shall keep trying! Thanks for the inspiration. :o)ReplyDelete
i am thinking those peppermint peeps would be really good in hot chocolate..i'll let you know...ReplyDelete
happy to visit here today, my friend
The library and the librarian in the town I grew up in remain two of my favorite memories...now my eldest is a librarian and Mr O is the president of our local library...you can say I still love libraries!ReplyDelete
...even with all those libraries I still love to buy books...even when I know I should go to the library first:)
i always loved the library as a child but for some reason i never go there now. i think i should start.ReplyDelete
I too have fond memories of the library...taking home stacks of books, the smell, the card catalog drawers, the old coke machine, my library card...which I think I still have...wow....ReplyDelete
I couldn't live without books. period.ReplyDelete
gorgeous photograph, Char - like a hidden treasure...
I used to borrow Nancy Drew books from the girl around the corner, and I also used to visit the mobile library that came to our little town -- both fond memories. Yes, I love our library now, and all the libraries in all the towns I've ever lived in... :)ReplyDelete
